What is the Difference?

What is the difference between a man who is gay and one who is straight? Apart from the variations of appearance and physique, their anatomy and physiology is basically the same. The same applies to their genitalia. So the differences, if there are any, must be either emotional or psychological.

Maybe that's an over-simplification. But is there really any other explanation? I myself do not think so. And if the bible-bashers expound theories about homosexuality being contrary to God's intentions. then ask them this: Who gave them the authority to say that they are right, and everyone else is wrong? The bible is just one book that represents the beliefs of one particular religion. There is more than one book, and there is more than one religion. So, set aside such distractions, and concentrate on the question.

Strip two [straight and/or gay] men naked and put them in a room together, and it's more than likely that they'll both have an erection. And it's just as likely that they'll both resort to masturbation. And why not? It's a perfectly natural biological reaction. But how should they react? That's the vital question.

We're all born without any inhibitions. And the inhibitions that we do have are acquired during infancy through the various influences that surround us in our daily lives. We are attuned to the conventions of the man-made society in which we live. It may be that we are born with certain instincts that affect our emotions and behaviour. That is not a point of argument. So, once again we come back to the same question.

Come on. Be honest. Admit that you don't really know. Accept the fact that your opinions, whatever they may be, are based upon things that other people have told you, or led you to believe at some time in your life. Rely on your OWN instincts. We can only learn from our OWN experiences. It's rather like eating a particular sort of food. We cannot honestly say whether we like it or not until we have actually tasted it. Anyone who says otherwise must either be a hypocrite or a fool.

Okay! You may, or may not, agree with these concepts. That's your privilege. But whatever you think, you cannot change anything. Age and background are of little importance. What is important are relationships between people. We're not straigh! And we're not gay!!! We're just men!!! And the sooner we set aside the prejudices, the better it will be for everyone.

Of course, every man has his own particular fantasies and desires. But none of them are unique. Somewhere out there in the wide world, someone thinks and feels exactly the same way that you do. And in the cyberworld .....
